Kitchen Organizing Tips for the New Year

It’s a new year, and the perfect time to finally get your kitchen organized. But where to begin? We have some tips and tricks to get your kitchen organized for the new year.

  • Invest in Sealed Containers
  • Instead of having flour and sugar bags scattered throughout your pantry or cabinets, invest in sealed containers. I know they are pricey, but they are stackable, can be labeled, and make everything more organized.

  • Organize Your Spices
  • I can never find the spice I need, so organization is necessary. You can get a spice rack that has the most used spices organized in alphabetical order or get a drawer organizer that allows every spice to be seen with the label up. Another popular idea is to use old baby food jars, label them, and magnetize them so they can be on the fridge or a magnet board. No matter which method you choose, there will be no more digging through a cabinet and pulling out every spice to find the right one.

  • Install a Gliding Rack
  • If you have a messy drawer or cabinet of pots and pans, it’s time to install a gliding rack. It allows you to pull out all of your pots and pans hanging by hooks and easily choose which one you want. It does take up about the same space as using a cabinet for pots and pans, but at least you’ll be able to get to all of them easily.

  • Use Diagonal Drawer Dividers
  • So many drawers are divided vertically, but you can actually fit a lot more when they are divided diagonally. On the smaller sections, you can put small whisks, measuring spoons, or measuring cups. On the larger sections, you can put rolling pins, wax paper, plastic wrap, and foil, or spatulas.

  • Use a Mug Rack
  • If you can an excess amount of mugs like I do, then a mug rack could help free up some space in a cabinet. There are mug racks that can be placed on countertops or if you don’t have space for that, there are wall racks as well. You could also install hooks under your cabinets and not use wall space or counter space. Not only does it get you organized, but it adds decoration to your kitchen while being practical.

The best money I ever spent!
Darlene Davis-Porter
My cabinets are 32 years old, after Gleam Guard I use nothing but water to clean them and they look beautiful!
Mrs. Williams
I am not exaggerating when I say it looks like I just spent $15,000 for new kitchen cabinets and misc. wood trim. The kitchen cabinets were originally made to custom fit this house and to have them replaced would have been extremely expensive!
