2018 kitchen design trends

No, we don’t mean we’re going to show you 2,018 different kitchen design trends. These are kitchen trends that will be popular in the year 2018. So get ahead of the game and add on one or a couple of these 2018 kitchen design trends.

Two-Toned Cabinets

This trend was popular last year but now it’s taking another step. It is now trendy to have two different types of textures for your upper and lower kitchen cabinets. You could have a smooth finish on the upper cabinets and a textured wood finish on the lower cabinets.

Pops of Color

If you choose to go with the traditional white cabinets, use pops of color throughout the kitchen. This could be appliances, clip-ons for pot lids, or other kitchen gadgets. You don’t want your kitchen to be bland, and this is an easy and changeable way to add color to your kitchen.

De-Clutter

Minimalism is becoming more and more trendy, so getting appliances off your counter is a must. “Appliance garages,” basically a giant cabinet, are becoming the new normal to hide away toasters and mixers until they are needed.

All-Purpose Bakeware

Bakeware is being made that can go in the freezer, oven, fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. This helps you out on the de-cluttering as well since you don’t need as many bowls that can only be used for certain things.

Warm Accents

People are using golden or copper metals as their warm accents and it’s catching on. Metal ranges are all the rage and even golden or copper colors spread throughout everyday kitchen items, such as pitchers and placemats.

Touch Appliances

A simple touch can make all the difference when you’re busy cooking in the kitchen. Let’s say you just cut up raw chicken and you don’t want to touch anything and make it dirty. Touch faucets are the way to go – touch it with your elbow or your nose even! They are very sensitive and will turn off and on in a snap. Touchscreen refrigerators are also very popular. These are generally smart appliances that will tell you what food you have in your fridge and can be accessed from anywhere with your phone. No more texting whoever is home to ask if you have an ingredient while shopping.

Industrial Look

A mix of industrial and modern embraces the use of brick, steel, concrete, and glass. It allows you to choose either traditional or modern furniture because you already have a mix of both in your kitchen design.

Glass Doors

Glass cabinet doors are the balance of open shelving and actual cabinets. They open up the kitchen but also keep your dishes protected from dust. You can also put in glass French doors to allow more natural light into your kitchen.

The best money I ever spent!
Darlene Davis-Porter
My cabinets are 32 years old, after Gleam Guard I use nothing but water to clean them and they look beautiful!
Mrs. Williams
I am not exaggerating when I say it looks like I just spent $15,000 for new kitchen cabinets and misc. wood trim. The kitchen cabinets were originally made to custom fit this house and to have them replaced would have been extremely expensive!
